It's seems that Geforce generic is not available during the Mandrake 9.1 installation. I've tested all Geforce settings but Xwind doesn't work. I'm going to try the latest driver from NVIDIA site... :study: |
yup, i think that is a wise decision, go for it...cause i'm also download my video driver from nvidia site, and i asume your installation CD is having some bug or error or anything....or....yeah...that's all <don't know what to say>
well some tips to install the driver : 1.login as root in the text mode <text module> <no X window> 2. run the program <asume that you used Mandrake and u download itu into a diskette "/mnt/flopy/nvidia/NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-4496-pkg2.run" ----> the driver i've download is like this and asume you download the same package. 3. follow the instruction on your monitor 4. edit the file "/etc/X11/XF86Config" or "/etc/X11/XF86Config-4" according what the instruction say 5. test with startx well if your download package is different at least the intallation command similiar with that |
