geeqie view jpeg comments

That's the search string I used in Google and Bing, and the only link I found was to a page that loaded blank for some reason.

My Geeqie version: Geeqie 1.0 (installed March 2011 in Ubuntu 11.04)

A few years ago, I was a member of this forum and the one on UNIX.com under a different username. I recall reading comments about one or another of the Linux image-viewing applications calling some other metadata tag "Comment." I suspect it was Geeqie but I'm not sure. If it is Geeqie, then it's likely I'm already seeing what it calls "Comment" in files I have added IPTC Captions or XMP Descriptions to.

I guess it's back to fotoxx to see the real JFIF comment in any of the files to which I've added it in Ubuntu, or any Linux, for that matter.

Have it, done it often; also have ExifTool and Exiv2. Was looking for something in GUI.
