(gedit:3671): Gtk-WARNING **: GtkScrolledWindow 0x8abc3c8 is mapped but visible child GtkScrollbar 0x8abd960 is not mapped

(gedit:3671): Gtk-WARNING **: GtkScrolledWindow 0x8abc3c8 is mapped but visible child GtkScrollbar 0x8abd7d8 is not mapped

(gedit:3671): Gtk-WARNING **: GtkScrolledWindow 0x8abc3c8 is mapped but visible child GtkScrollbar 0x8abd960 is not mapped

Is this a big thing to worry. If yes then how do I solve it ?

ignore it as long as gedit works for you

Hi...

Or you could try reinstalling gedit in the Synaptic package manager and see what happens. :)

You will find that many GTK applications have some warnings when executed through the terminal. Apparently, GTK is just verbose.

As the last poster said, running things from the terminal can show all sorts of odd warnings, which are usually harmless. If it never does, that's the sign of a very stable distro!

The ones to beware of are:

CRITICAL
This should not happen
This may cause a crash
This program may not work as expected

Which are the sign of a very unstable distro!
