GDM fails to start
 

Hello all,
I am having problems getting getting GDM to start after upgrading to GTK2.4. After the graphical boot, I get an error saying "It seems thatthere is already an X server running on display:0. Should I try anotherone?" Selecting yes or no has no effect.I can choose another console, login and startx.

Any help will be greatly appreciated...

I would try "KDM". I like a lot better anyway.

I have the same problem. I used swaret to find and install new version of installed packages and got this error after reboot (didnt know which packages caused it - i suspected Gnome 2.4 of it).

Plz let me know if u find solution
