gcc

ok with my distro gcc didn't come included (which made anything not in the rpm format useless)anyway when i did download it, it had an conflict error from install-info (what does this do anyhow) so i used the overwrite files function and it installed fine and i compiled 2 programs (nuke and zsnes) and they work but when i went to compile a third program (3dwm) i got an error "compiler gcc cannot create executables" the files work, i use zsnes all the time and it didn't break yet so what happened...what do i have to modify now.

Check the config.log for 3dwm after you get the message about gcc can't create executables. At the end should be hints as to what went wrong. A friend ran into a similar problem recently, but I don't remember what he didn't have installed.
