Gaiptek: Aiptek Hyperpen Manager, where to find sources?
Hello there! :P
I've just read some very interesting page about the kernel hyperpen drivers and it seems there is this cool frontend to setup my hyperpen 8000U. Unfortunately its homepage doesnt point to a download site or something. Does anybody know where to find the source tarballs or a slackware package for Gaiptek?
If you go to http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...ease_id=279824 and download the file which suits you, Gaiptek is included in this file. If the perl setup script isn't needed, then in the extracted archive, go to: src/gaiptek/, and do the common, ./configure, make, and make install.
I must have cold feet or something. After 10 hours of compiling and installing new gtk, glib related libs i got two source-code errors from the gaiptek package. One was related to non-ascii character within the code, so i located them and removed (something about the author's names, sorry!). After that it started complaining about some function like this:
"GaiptekWindow_glade.cc: In constructor `
GaiptekWindow_glade::GaiptekWindow_glade()':
GaiptekWindow_glade.cc:11288: error: `slot' undeclared in namespace `SigC'
(...)"
So, i'm pretty lost right now... it's too hard for me to even think of debugging such error... could somebody gimme a hand or at least point me out some alternative to gaiptek?
I've compiled, makepkg and installed all the dependencies from source (yeah, baby!!! the slack way of life!!!) and they work for any other gtk program. The only problem is compiling gaiptek itself that doesnt work. I'm thinking of opening the source code and commenting out all the lines (dozens) that are pointed out as errors.
Anyways, thanks again kev19, you've been of great help so far, but i hope somebody else joins us in this discussion.
