gaim - unable to chat because protocols not installed
 

hi,

can someone please tell me what protocols or packages to install or services to enable so that I do chat?

using MSN

Click on Tools, and then plugins
Load the MSN plugin (pretty straight forward names)

Ok, now when you add the account, make sure in the drop down menu that MSN is the protocol used.

yes I have and was logged in but I find I can not join in the chat.
File -> Join A Chat

then I get the message :

"you are not currently signed on with any protocols that have the ability to chat'

You do have to also click on the "sign on/off" button as well.
