Gaim security patch / also Yahoo login

I have the security patch for Gaim from the gaim.sourceforge.net site. How do I apply this patch? I have the patch as a plain text file of programming code and, being a newbie, I have no clue how to apply this patch. I am using Fedora.

I am also running Gaim 0.71 and having no problems at all with AOL, Yahoo, or MSN messaging. If I use the latest Gaim 0.75, I cannot login to Yahoo messenger. I have changed my server from scs.yahoo.com to scs.msg.yahoo.com according to the Gaim website, but I still cannot use Yahoo IM. It works fine in 0.71.
