Question GAIM question

I'm using GAIM in Fedora Core 3 and noticed that all of my buddy profiles have an extra return after each line. I'm thinking this is due to a Windows style carriage return, but how can I get rid of them or make GAIM not read them?

Thanks

I'm using GAIM v1.1.4-0.FC3 by the way
