Gaim Problems

I just downloaded the newest version of Gaim, (Its the first one i installed on linux) And the install went perfect everything went fine, but when i go to load it, the old gaim loads up!!
The really old one that comes with RH!!
Even if i load gaim.desktop from the new folder the old one still comes up instead!
Any ideas! Do i have to uninstall the old one, if so how?!

Thanks
-Mark

Never mind i got it working!
I was installing from source but the old game was an rpm!

So i just used rpm -e gaim.
