Gaim problem...
 

Hey-

I'm running a fresh install of RH9 and Gaim 0.71, and this problem has happened to me in the past but I've always been able to rectify it by restarting the program/rebooting, but this time it's persistent... simply put, it won't sign on AIM. It says "connecting" and gives me the status bar that fills to about 50%, then just hangs until I click cancel. Anyone know what the problem might be? Thanks.

Are you using a proxy of any sort?
Will it connect on any protocol other than AIM?

Which protocol are you using for Aim? there are two: OSCAR, and TOC.

Try both :)

Tried both... both hung. TOC freezes up for a bit and then says "disconnected: authentication failed," even though I'm using the correct U/P.
No proxy, evertthing else works... :(
The AIM client for linux put out by AOL hangs too... I thought it was a port problem, but I disabled firewall and turned on minimal security, and still got nothing.
I reboot into windows and it works... does linux just not like me?
