gaim .60 wont configure

Im fairly alright when it comes to installing tarballs. Anyways, all you have to do (according tot he instructions) is configure,make,make install. OK so i try ./configure says no such file or directory......

why?how? what do I do to get this installed? Thnx.

Unzip the tarball, cd into the new directory, and try again
