I changed a setting in Gaim to stop showing the icon in the system tray so now if I close my buddy list I get logged out.
How can I have Gaim running with out the buddy list open, I cannot find the setting that I changed to remove it from the system tray.
Well, as you realised, you can't run gaim with the friends list "closed" unless you either keep it minimised or keep it in the system tray.
The setting is in Tools-Preferences-Plugins and you'll find one there called System Tray Icon.
