hey, i have fluxbox as my default WM, anyways i am not able to run programs like GAIM, or any games that start with G, and i cant run ABI word, nor can i run Mozilla.
is this because i am in fluxbox, which i hear is somehow related to KDE.
if im right is there any way to run programs like GAIM from fluxbox. or do i need to change my WM.
if there isnt a way, ill probably just DL Konqueror for my web browser but i need GAIM and theres plenty of other gnome apps I'd like to be able to use

Are you unable to run these programs because they are not in your menus, you can't find them, or do you get an error? What happens when you try to launch them from a terminal window?
i have both versions of GTK and i got these programs from a install of slackware 9.1, i think ill try uninstalling both my versions of GTK and reinstaling them from source tarballs i have (using my newly downloaded checkinstall). ill probably try re-instaling GAIM and Mozilla from source if that doesnt work.
if any of these ideas fix my problem, ill post back and tell you what i did.
I don't think that I would have gone the route of uninstalling and re-installing just yet. Do you get any error messages when you try to run those apps? It could be something as simple as a path issue.
