FXP in Linux


any1 know of a good program that could FXP as well as FTP.

a really good one

any1 have suggestions, please feel free to post.

IglooFTP does FXP, but since you say "a really good one" I will not specifically recommend it. Igloo is not GPL, and it also has a tendancy to crash more often than any other Linux program I've yet seen.

Hmmm....what does this say about closed source....

anyway, I've been looking for a decent alternative to FlashFXP myself, and so far haven't found one. I'll be sure to post if I find one.

pftp-mew is the scene standard for FXP'ers. Couple it with the "screen" utility and you have an extremely versatile combination.

Click the ">>>" characters up to the right to grab it. Screen probably comes with your distribution.

I installed pftpmew on my slackware box, I dont seem to find the commands anywhere such as downloading or fxping a whole dir full of files at once ,
if there is such a command? or whats the most useful for this type of transfer,
