FTP server problem
 

Dear All ,

i am still new user for linux , i am using RedHat .

i am facing a problem that i want to setup an FTP server for my linux

i tryed to use the vsftp , but i am facing serveral problems :

1) i need to set it up for only users and to disable Anonymous , i did the following anonymous_enable=NO , then " serive vsftpd restart " command to apply the new sittings , but when i tested it on another machine i was able to log in as user : ftp , and no password . so i am stucked and don't know how to disable this

2) i want to disable upload , i don't know what to do

3) how i can setup users for my ftp server , is that only by adding them to my system users ???

please help , i need it urgent .

sorry i cant give you a direct answere as i dont know how to do what you ask, but hopefuly that link will provide you with the answers.
