[Log in to get rid of this advertisement]
hello friends

when i open any ftp site in the mozilla/firefox browser
for example ftp://ftp.gnu.org it gives following error message:
425 Failed to establish the connection

and this ftp site can be opened in the windows say in the internet explorer so there is no blocking problem with the internet.
Thanks and Regads

Check your proxy settings in Edit->Preferences.

firefox is not really made to browse ftp servers.
maybe you should try "gftp" instead. this is a full ftp-client.

But it will usually work reasonable well. At least in version 2. (indianirav, you neglected to state which FF version you're running.)

If you want a fancier interface, install the "FireFTP" extension, or one of the other FTP extensions. (Click "Tools"->"Add -ons" ->"Get Extensions" and search for FTP).
