FTP Client with SSL/TLS support
I have been looking for FTP client with support for SSL/TLS as well as SFTP (Secure NOT ssh) but there seems to exists none with that support! okej there is IglooFTP with TLS support, but that one costs.
I think it is rather strange.. because i can't find a client with that support i have to boot into Windows sometimes just to get that support! I'm rather frustrated at the moment.
For windows there exist much better apps in this area unfortunately.

I use lftp and pftp-mew. The pftp-mew site looks like it's down at the moment though.
Both provide good TLS/SSL support.

"sftp" looks and acts like ftp but utilizes an ssh secure connection.

Since you brought this old thread up again I might as well let you know that pftp-mew can be downloaded from this site now. I have made a simple ebuild as well if anyone wants to test it.

For linux, filezilla is a GUI style ftp/sftp/ftps (you need ftps) ftp client.

WOW,
this is a "late" RE to the post from 2003, 18-11.
I hope OP had found the solution in 9 years.

Googling for "linux ftp client tls" brought me to this page - which did mention lftp, a command line solution. As long as it is a google hit, I thought having the GUI solution here also would be nice.

I too hit this page very late in the game, but the thread was useful to me as well. Thanks LinuxQuestions.Org!
As more security requirements keep falling upon the admins, these types of threads will remain useful.
Other suggestions for FTP clients (GUI). Don't forget Filezilla for Linux and gFTP.
I'll check out lftp now.
