Talking FreeBSD GUI

Ok.... i have been useing windows for my whole life...
one day i decided to get free bsd because it sounded better(btw im no newb to networking and "security") so i wait a tedious 4 H for the iso to download
well i try to transfer the iso to my laptop to write it to a cd... and the file size is like 630MB and my flash drive is only 512 (lol), well long story short i made the cd, installed FreeBSD on my inspiron 1100( O YES!!) and i reboot...
well i had seen other screenshots on websites that looked GREAT .
i was wondering how i can get out of this cmd prompt type thing (bash shell i think...) and create a GUI. Dont u use Enlightenment? or Gnome?

sorry im such a n00b lol

Even though you have installed the base system you've along way to go, theres a lot of software to be downloaded, compiled and installed. By far the best thing to do is read the handbook - http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO...ook/index.html

First you will have to install drivers for you videokaart and then you install KDE is for GUI. After you done this you can sat the X to default or you can start maualy evrytime. I believe there r enoughf howto's for BSD , howto install any software. You have to search.
