FreeBSD?

Just wanted to say that in under three days I was able to learn enough to delete my windows partition. I am now 100% Linux. But just out of curiosity... What is FreeBSD? I was talking to my friend today and he's telling me that he uses FreeBSD at home and he loves it and he would use nothing else. Is it just another Linux Distro or is it something entirely different?

FreeBSD is not a Linux Distribution. It is another type of Unix.
