free linux projects

Hi,

Where can i find free linux projects on web.
suppose consider concept "shell scripting" , i learned that concept ,
now i want to test my knowledge for that i want to do a project on shell script .
To do that project i need problem or Aim
example : project using shell script to send meaage to other terminal etc.,
