framebuffer console background?


i read somewhere that you could use an image as a background for a framebuffer console, if this can be done, how do i do it?

As usually happens, I got interested...

Seems Suse and Gentoo kernels are pached to do this out of the box.
I've found Gentoo Patches here, but haven't yet looked them over to see if they can be used on a non-gentoo system.

AHA!

Found this too, should work on any 2.4.x & 2.6.x kernels.
