FPS Limited :(

I have Geforce 2MX AGP card and while running games in linux the FPS does not increase more than 50, no matter what resolution or detail level i keep it dosent change. I am using the latest nvidia driver, I had similar problem in Windows for which there is a reg fix to set the FPS not limited to refresh rate of monitor. Is there an solution for this in LINUX? Kindly help...

Why not increase the monitor refresh rate? Doesn't 50hz hurt your eyes? If not, why do you want more FPS? It won't make a difference to what you see and it could cause tearing as well (which you don't want)

/etc/X11/XF86Config
Look for the monitor section and a line that looks like this:
Code:
    VertRefresh 50-140
Change this to the refresh rate you want, so if you want 60hz do this:
Code:
    VertRefresh 60
Make sure that the monitor supports that rate at that resolution(s) and save. Restart X.
The changes should take effect.
Hope that helps.
