Font problems with Mozilla
 
This has been an ongoing problem. Using Mozilla (or Gecko derivatives Firebird/Firefox, Galeon, Epiphany) Asian fonts only appear as ?Unicode boxes with numbers. However, with Konqueror, the fonts display properly. I have tried changing the encoding but that does not help.

Slackware 9.1, Gnome 2.4.0, KDE 3.2, MS TrueType fonts

Any suggestions??

You may need the version of Mozilla/Firefox with GTK+XFT support. I seem to remember having font problems and reading that you needed to use the above version in order to correct it.
