font looks wierd in open office

well, before i had suse 9 openoffice 1.1 and the font looks OK

but recently i install mandrake with openoffice 1.1 and the font looks wierd... some part of the font ( i mean the font in the document, not the buttom font) look fat, while other parts of the font look skinny, as if writing with an pen that is almost out of ink..

how can i fix this?

Please tell us which font you are using in the documents.
In my OO setup there is a font alias setup, and the fonts look ok, but this alias isn't in Star Office and the fonts look bad. I'm not at my home computer right now so I can't look up what font that is.
