Font Color at Kernel startup

Hello people,

I just happened to change the font color of the console prompt and I was wondering if there is a way (I'm pretty sure there is) to change the font color at kernel startup, like gentoo and many other distros.

Ideas, anyone?

Thanks.

does fontconfig do that?

As far as I know, fontconfig only change the font type, not the color.
