you should have a /usr/local/share/fluxbox/Themes directory or similar. put it in there

The directory(s) you are looking for are in two places. You only need to use one of them. The first is global and the second is user specific. /opt/fluxbox/share/fluxbox is the global dir in which you can put the style file in the styles dir. As for backgrounds, edit the style file and ese where it's looking for the background and add that. It's usually ../backgrounds/whatever.jpg where .. is the previous dir. The second and user specific dir is your home directory (easiest by far in my mind). There is a .fluxbox dir in your user's home. Within that dir, create a backgrounds dir (mkdir backgrounds) in which you put the background files and like above, put the other files in their respective dirs like the style file into styles. You can ALWAYS edit the style file and point the background to where you need it. mine are point to the user's home/.fluxbox/backgruonds dir. Example: ~/.fluxbox/backgrounds/odd.jpg is my current file and directory.

Unhappy Background's ot working...

Hey folks,

Thanks for your replies so far, but i still got 1 question....
The styles all work fine... including different background gradients. But pictures never appear on the backkground. Isn't there and easy way to just set the background, no matther what style is set? Would be normal if a feature like this is included in the configuration part of the menu...

In the terminal write:
bsetbg -f ~/.fluxbox/Backgrounds/xxxx.png

Likewise, i've noticed alot of themes use .jpg's and use the Esetroot option in which you need to have Eterm installed to work. bsetbg should be fine, although i've found Esetroot to be more consistant. Example, i'm using the FluXoDD (Oddworld) theme (very neato ) and my style file has this as the background line at the top:

Esetroot -f ~/.fluxbox/backgrounds/odd.jpg

Same as bsetbg example by aliensub but it works better (for me).
Just make sure you make the ~/.fluxbox/backgrounds dir and put the backgrounds in there.
