Hi there, im a bit stumped by this one because iv never had this problem before. Im using Mandrake 10.0, and having a few problems getting the Fluxbox option to appear as a valid session when logging on.
Anyway, the installation was fine and everything seems to be in the right place. So having looked around other Fluxbox related threads here i added two files, which were:
Made this one at /etc/X11/dm/Sessions/01Fluxbox.desktop
Code:
[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=Fluxbox
Comment=Fluxbox
TryExec=/usr/local/bin/startfluxbox
Exec=/etc/X11/xdm/Xsession fluxbox
Icon=
Type=Application
Then this one at /etc/X11/wmsession.d/01Fluxbox
Code:
Name=Fluxbox
Icon=
DESC=Fluxbox WM
EXEC=/usr/local/bin/startfluxbox
SCRIPT:
exec /usr/local/bin/startfluxbox
Which i had hoped would then place it into the relevant menu (i changed 01KDE to 02KDE for both)
Have i missed something very obvious here? There are some aspects of Mandrake that i love, but i always seem to get caught out by stupid little things like this =/
I also tried editting /etc/inittab changing the default runlevel from 5 to 3 (so that i can start using startx) but that didnt seem to help at all (rather than start at run level 3, it still popped up KDM....bah!)
Any help here would definitely be appreciated. I had no problems using Slackware or RedHat, so this is starting to annoy me now :P
Cheers guys
