fluxbox program menu

I did a source install of fluxbox ontop of a base redhat instalation with no GUI. it worked well at first but now i see one flaw (which is probably a flaw on my part)

whenever i add new software from both source or RPM it does not show up on the little right click program menu, although i can still initalize the software from the command prompt.

I installed a USB hardware viewer and a little Mp3 player, in case that matters.

so i was just wondering how to add these programs to my right click program menu.

open up /home/user/.fluxbox/menu

You can add it there.

If you dont want to mess with changeing the menu by altering the file like the above post recommends you might want to try fluxconf. Its a gui for configuring your fluxbox desktop and includes a menu editor. http://devaux.fabien.free.fr/flux/

It works but it's pretty pointless.

[exec] (fluxedit) {gedit ~/.fluxbox/menu ~/.fluxbox/init ~/.fluxbox/keys ~/.fluxbox/slitlist ~/.fluxbox/groups}

is better. I find the gui more awkward than just editing the files. And this gives total control. The GUI includes a lot but not everything.
