Where can I download flashplayer 8 for firefox/linux?

The only way to get flash 8 is to install firefox win32 under wine. This actually works quite well with plain wine. There is no flash 8 for linux. I've read on other sites that macromedia will skip flash 8 for linux and instead concentrate on version 8.5, which will be released for all platforms (win,mac,linux)
