Flash vids stop, turn grey. Can't find posted fix.

Flash 10, adobe bug report FP-971, submitted by a mandriva user, probably Nov '08. I can't find a fix to this; wondering if you guys have some suggestions. If i missed the answer on LQ i apologize, & ask please point me to it.
This is happening on LinuxMint 6. (It doesn't happen in Slack 12.2.) Should I simply remove flashplugin-nonfree & use version 9 from adobe's site, or is there a more interesting way?
TIA
