flash/shockwave not working

out of the blue, adobe shockwave/flash doesn't work. in chrome, videos requiring the plugin play the video fine, but the audio stutters and crackles.

I downloaded version 11.2 (for firefox). however, it doesn't register in firefox for some reason - displays the 'additional plugin is required' message. of course, when I go here https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/ it registers as up-to-date and operational.

kind of annoying (not to mention frustrating), any help would be appreciated.

I'm running fedora 17

Hi,

In most of the Linux distros Ive used, Flash didnt come pre-installed for some reason.

You'll need to download flash from here https://www.adobe.com/support/flashp...downloads.html

hi,

thanks for the reply - the problem has actually gone away (though I've no idea why). when I wrote this post, I had downloaded and installed flash from adobe. it registered as functional in the plugins menu, but didn't actually work.

however, the next day it did. (???)
