Flash Player 9 crashes in Opera and Konqueror
Whenever I try to display sites that contain flash content in Opera or Konqueror, I get:
Konqueror: Code:
(process:4053): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_get_data: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed Code:
(process:317): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_get_data: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed Opera 9.10 Flash Player is 9.0.31.0 When going to about:plugins both browsers recognise the flash plug-in, it works perfectly in Firefox, and it worked for me in Opera in the past  (using the same versions of Flash and Opera, but an earlier version of my distro). Any ideas what might be wrong here? |
Does it always crash?
One known case: It crashes when you press right mouse button and system does not have required fonts by flash to display menu. |
It always crashes immediately when attempting to load the .swf

Have you installed/updated Glib2 (2.14.4)? or gtk+2.12.2?
I have a similar problem, I even made a Thread about it. I created it a a while back. I am compiling my own Gnome 2.20.2 in my Slackware Machine, so i have to upgrade some libraries in order to build it (Glib, gtk, pango). Opera works fine, and so does konqueror, but as soon i upgraded the gtk/Glib libraries, im not able to watch Flash animations in neither one of those Browsers. There is no problem with Firefox. Ive been searching the net for a while, trying to find out which library is the one to "blame", and if there is a patch or any known way to solve this issue. |
Try to upgrade libgtk. On my Debian Sid (unstable) I've replaced libgtk2.0-0 2.12.0-2 (using .../libgtk2.0-0_2.12.9-4_i386.deb) and konqueror works now with flash .. although still I use 9r48.
