Flash Player 8 for Linux??

Does anyone know of any kind of work-around for the lack of a Linux version of Macromedia's Flash Player 8? I've been ignoring it for a while, but more and more often I'm finding web sites with content that I can't view because it requires version 8.

Is Macromedia working on a Linux version? I've seen that they're predicting a Linux release of version 9 in early 2007, so maybe I should just keep waiting.

Does anyone happen to know about the Tamarin project (open source project run by Mozilla.org and Macromedia to work on some kind of open standards version of the flash scripting engine)? Will there eventually be an open source Flash Player?

There's a beta of flash 9 available now. See here: http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flashplayer9/

You can also use Wine

You can also use Wine to run Firefox and have Flash. I posted a link here that explains how to do this (scroll down to the very bottom).
