My flashplugin-nonfree sits in /usr/lib/flashplugin-nonfree/libflashplayer.so. So I would take a look in there first to see if yours sits there also. My Antix install is pretty much pure Debian testing. This is a base AntiX install though.

As a test just now I just downloaded Firefox 10.02 .tar.bz2 and extracted it. I opened my rox file manager as root and moved extracted firefox file into /opt.
I run Iron browser and Iceape and Seamonkey 2.7.2 (sits in /home instead of /opt)
I ran Firefox with gexec
Code:
/opt/firefox/firefox
Checked

So I'm not sure why yours did not get picked up. No symlink or copying libflashplayer.so needed for this fresh install. I guess I'll make a launcher now for Fluxbox with my LXpanel for it since this hardrive has the room for it. Looks like it has a self updater in Help like Seamonkey does.
