flash drive won't unmount
don't know whether this would be better in software or hardware. oh well.
alright, I think I know what I did wrong--I took it out of the usb port before unmounting it. Problem now is this: when I try to unmount it when it's connected, it says I can't because it's mounted twice. If I try to unmount it when it's NOT connected, I get: umount: /mnt/removable is not in the fstab (and you are not root) Rebooting doesn't work. ^^; Not that big of a problem, but I'd still rather it were fixed. |
I did the same thing once and if properly remember I plugged it back and then shutdown; then booted up the USB connected.
Once the box was it was automatically mounted, then I unmounted and that was the end of it. Try it, it may work for you. R |
p.s. make sure you are root, because I get that error when I'm not root
also you could do umount -l (lowercase L) to do a "lazy unmount" which simply just cuts it off. That is what I do when my external hard drive gets into a fit about unmounting. |
ah, cool guys. thanks
