Firefox problem with text boxes automatically highlighting text

I'm having a strange problem with Firefox. I like to tab through text boxes rather than clicking on each one. Problem is, I don't really know if it has anything to do with the tabbing honestly, but Ill type in the box Ill get one letter than it will highlight it all on its own and then obviously get replaced with the next letter I type. I can type one letter, press the forward arrow and type another letter then it automatically highlights the 2 letters, etc etc. I'm really not even sure how to stop it, I try clicking in the box and they doesn't seem to do anything.

I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 with firefox 3.6.6

So as you can see the makes things very difficult and its very annoying.

Has anyone ever heard of this before? Please tell me theres a fix.

Open a terminal and type:
mv ~/.mozilla ~/.mozilla.bak

And try again. It will disable (but not delete) all your bookmarks and settings and restore some close to the defaults. If it work fine, then you had some extensions/settings problems.
