Firefox + Privoxy not loading any website

Hi there,

I just moved to Slackware and a must-have for me (and probably for some of you) is Privoxy to do some serious ad blocking. The daemon runs correctly since I can see the OK message at boot time and there's normal output when I issue

Code:

/etc/rc.d/rc.privoxy status

. However, when I put the proxy address (by default 127.0.0.1:8118) for HTTP and SSL connections in Firefox any server can't be found. To debug that, I uncommented the logfile line from the configuration file but I can see no actual logfile after restarting the daemon.

Anyone would mind sharing his/her config or has been through something similar?

I hope that you have checked the following:
1) Make sure that iptables/firewall is not blocking port 8118
2) I Hope that a particular url or tlds (.com,.org etc) that you are checking are not declared to be blocked in action files.
3) Your internet connection is on.
4) You are checking right location of log file i.e /var/log/privoxy
