Firefox plugins & codecs are apparently nonexistent
Hi,
After a couple weeks after installing Fedora 9, my Firefox 3 plugins & codecs have spontaneously vanished. My themes & Extensions are still there, but I can't do anything that involves opening a file in a browser window. Sometimes it even goes straight to a download window when I click on image files. The first few weeks it was fine (except for flash, which has never worked fully), and now it wont handle any media at all. What can I do about this besides completely remove & reinstall firefox (and will that even work?) Thanks |
Sounds like your Firefox profile has been corrupted.
You can try creating a new profile by starting firefox with firefox -profilemanager command. Then choose Create New, your plugins should still work just fine but you would have to install your extensions, bookmarks etc. I m not running fedora but i have no issues running firefox/iceweasel.
