Firefox Plugin Crash

hey all i am really struggling with this one...

Ive got ubuntu hedgehog and i really like it except for this one thing...

every time i try to load a webpage that has something to do with flash, problems occur. the broswer will suddenly crash and freeze. i have tried this with firefox and straight mozilla and the same problem occurs on the same webpages.

when i ran the programs from root, the only output that i get is:

NP_Initialize
New

Any ideas?

Thanks
