Firefox on redhat 9
Hi guys,
I am using redhat 9 for learning purpose - alot of books avail on it. Anyway. I installed firefoc on my home folder and it went well. But, I dont see any icon on the desktop or programs menu. Yes I know this is not windoze. So what I did was link a copy of firefox(service?) on my desktop . When I double click it... a dialogue box asking "display" , "run in terminal" , "cancel" and "run". Ofcourse I click run and then firefox opens and here is no problems. What I want to know is how to get rid of the dialogue so as to open the browser immediately upon double clicking the icon? Thanks |
not sure what version of gnome came with rh9 (2.4ish?) but look in the nautilus settings. The reason you are getting this is because "firefox" inside the firefox-installer directory is a script not an executable program (firefox-bin is the actual browser, but you cannot call it directly).
