Firefox in KDE First Opens Containing, then Downloaded File

Whenever I double-click on a download in Firefox's download manager, it first opens, with KDE's Dolphin, the file's containing folder; then it opens the file. Is there any way to get Firefox to just open the file (based on the MIME type etc.) without also opening the containing folder in Dolphin? Thanks

Did you ever find out what was causing your problem?

I know this was over 12 months ago but I have exactly the same thing happening and I can't find an answer anywhere. You open a downloaded file and first a dolphin window opens and finally the correct application opens the file. Or to put it differently, firefox opens dolphin before opening the download. There are a couple of similar requests for help but no solution.

Mageia 3, Firefox 17.0.9 ESR

No, it doesn't happen anymore with me (in rv:17.0 or later). However, rv:17.0 still opens every type of file in one application only. I now have 24.1.0, and this doesn't happen anymore, either.

Have either of you tested this with another browser, such as Konqueror, to see whether it's a Firefox issue or perhaps something more generalized?
