Firefox import bookmarks but not overwrite existing ones

Is it possible to import into Firefox the bookmarks someone sends me as a .json file, without overwriting all my existing bookmarks??

i would back up the existing database
import that one ,then EXPORT it as a html file
then export your normal database as an html
then merge the two

or
and this will just add the new ones in unlabled
export the new one as html
then on the normal database import the new html file

that should just add the new bookmarks to the old file
but the order it is in ?????

Thanks for that. So I can save all bookmarks as an html file?? Then I can just cut and paste the new additions in.

What is a json file??
