Firefox and Java not working
I'm using firefox 0.9 on a mandrake 10.0 with the 2.6.8-1MDK kernel and i can't get java to work in firefox.
I tried the latest version of java but it didn"t change anything. I can get it to work in konqueror and in Mozilla but not in firefox but i don't know why it doesn't work in firefox because it should work just like in mozilla. Is there anything i could be fogetting or is there a bug ? |
Try to create a link from /where Java is installed to /where Firefox is installed. E.g:
ln -s /usr/local/<your JRE path>/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so /usr/local/firefox/plugins You can read this thread http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...171#post921171 it's about installing Java, Limewire and Java plugin. Good luck! |
I did that. It's the same way you have to install it in mozilla but it just doesn't work (for me) in firefox.

You are using an outdated version of firefox, uninstall firefox and download firefox 1.0PR from mozillas website and try it with that. It works fine for me on SUSE.
