Firefox 3.5 is known to freeze computers
I have been having a problem with firefox3.5 freezing my pc with and without plugins and addons enabled. I went to the Mozilla Firefox forum and found that this is also a problem on other platforms and may have to due with a memory leak. I am using FC11 x86_64 on an Athlon 64 with 1.5 GB of RAM and 3.2 GHz CPU. This problem is on Macs and Win also.
I wonder whether the 3.5.1 update to Firefox released today has addressed any of these issues? It certainly is supposed to have fixed an issue on Windows over temporary Internet files causing Firefox to slow down on start-up.

nope-3.5.1 still freezes my pc. Reading through threads of other people who have had similar problems...they may experience a slow down or a momentary freeze but are then able to kill the process because they have more memory than I have or have a dual core processor.
I had the same problem a long time ago when Firefox was around version 1.5 or 2.0. I read this web page and made a few adjustments in about:config and have had no problems since.
