Firefox seems to stall until I stop it with the X in the red circle ("stop loading this page"), and then start it again by highlighting the URL in the space at the top of the page, and hit enter. Then it goes to that page immediately.
Similarly when I click on a link in a page, it will often (not always) hang until I stop it in the same way and then click on the link again. Then it will go immediately to that page.
Seems to be a problem with Firefox itself, because I have several distros on my computer and those that have firefox 3.5 all react in the same way. Also, in two of those distros I have Konqueror installed as well as Firefox 3.5, and after getting firefox started, (and hanging) if I go to konqueror and choose the same URL, it will go immediately to the site while firefox is still hung.
I have always preferred firefox, but maybe I'm missing some tweak or setup trick. Any ideas?
