firefox 1.5beta on gentoo

I downloaded hte latest firefox ebuild and ran ebuild mozilla-firefox/mozilla-firefox-1.5_beta2-r1.ebuild digest
but when I tried to emerge it, I got the following message

root@mndar[/usr/local/portage/www-client]# ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="-*" emerge -pv mozilla-firefox

These are the packages that I would merge, in order:

Calculating dependencies
!!! All ebuilds that could satisfy "mozilla-firefox" have been masked.
!!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request:
- www-client/mozilla-firefox-1.0.6-r2 (masked by: missing keyword)
- www-client/mozilla-firefox-1.0.6-r3 (masked by: ~x86 keyword)
- www-client/mozilla-firefox-1.0.6-r6 (masked by: package.mask, ~x86 keyword)
# Jory A. Pratt <anarchy@gentoo.org> (15 Aug 2005)
# Mozilla rpath inclusion. For testing purposes only.

- www-client/mozilla-firefox-1.0.6-r7 (masked by: missing keyword)
- www-client/mozilla-firefox-1.0.6-r4 (masked by: ~x86 keyword)
- www-client/mozilla-firefox-1.0.6-r5 (masked by: missing keyword)
- www-client/mozilla-firefox-1.5_beta2-r1 (masked by: -* keyword)

For more information, see MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge man page or
section 2.2 "Software Availability" in the Gentoo Handbook

So I checked packages.gentoo.org and found this

*mozilla-firefox-1.5_beta2-r1 (13 Oct 2005) 13 Oct 2005; (anarchy) +files/1.5/mozilla-firefox-1.1a2-ia64.patch, +files/1.5/embed-typeaheadfind.patch, +files/1.5/firefox-cairo-canvas.patch, +files/1.5/firefox-nopangoxft.patch, +files/1.5/firefox-visibility.patch, +files/1.5/mozilla-hppa.patch, +files/1.5/mozilla-1.3-alpha-stubs.patch, +files/gentoo-default-prefs.js, +files/icon/deerpark-icon.png, files/icon/mozillafirefox.desktop, +mozilla-firefox-1.5_beta2-r1.ebuild: 1.5 initial import, masked for all until further notice

If it is masked for all until further notice , why make an ebuild, why alloe users to download the firefox-1.5b2-source.tar.bz2 file ?

The message says - www-client/mozilla-firefox-1.5_beta2-r1 (masked by: -* keyword) even when I have given ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="-*" .
Neither is the package hard masked. I checked /usr/portage/profile/package.mask
The weird part is this. Check the amarok thing http://packages.gentoo.org/ebuilds/?amarok-1.3.5 .The latest version is maked by the ~x86 keyword. Hence the ~ , below x86. Now take a look here http://packages.gentoo.org/ebuilds/?...irefox-1.5_rc1
Why release an ebuild if you can't install the package on ANY architecture.
I could be missing something here. So, please correct me.

I think unmasking can be done, in this case, by editing the given ebuild in /usr/portage/www-client/mozilla-firefox.

Change the KEYWORDS line from "-*" to "~x86" or just "x86". It should allow you to try building it, but I don't know how it will turn out, or whether it will even build.

I presume the "-" in "-*" is disallowing building for any architecture whatsoever. But, what the hell do I know? Good luck.
