Firebug doesn't work on iceweasel and tor browser

So I didn't know that installing an extension to edit websites on my side would be such a pain. I don't see any other extensions that would have same function as firebug. In tor browser i just says it's incompatibile, in iceweasel it installed but it just doesn't work at all. I click firebug and nothing happens at all. Are there any similiar extensions that doesn't cause problems?

Firebug is a Firefox add on. There is a lite version that may work on other browsers. See their FAQ page and their compatibility table.
