finding the ip number


Hiiı will be a primitive question but would you please help me in finding the ip number of the computer I am working on.I tried 'ifconfig' command but even though it exists in the man pages ,bash shell does not find it.Thank u..

you probably are not correctly logged in as root, so it would not be on your path. you can always just run "/sbin/ifconfig" to get it.
