Files larger than 2 GB

(sorry about the title saying 4 GB, i meant 2 GB)

Hi

I just experienced a weird problem in gnome:

If i right-click on a file larger than 2 GB, it just disappears from view! Then if i refresh the view in nautilus it reappears.
I have got no problems opening or editing the files, i just can't right-click on them ?

this can be tested by creating a file:

Code:

dd if=/dev/null of=bigfile bs=1M seek=3000
This creates a file 3000 MB in size. Then try right-clicking on it.

My specs:
gentoo, with kernel 2.6.10-gentoo-r6 (dev-sources)
filesystem: Reiserfs in a software RAID0 on two disks (~60 GB in total size)
gnome 2.8.1-r1, nautilus 2.8.2

thanks in advance

Brian

One of best ways to solve this problem is to use KDE :D Just kidding
